Located in the Minneapolis Arts District, Blue Sky Galleries showcase and retail a variety of interior works from over 30 regional wood artists designed to make homes and offices into creative masterpieces. The gallery supplies items ranging from sculptures and wall hangings to custom-made furniture, carvings and more. Blue Sky has recently extended their services to include classes on woodworking styles and techniques.

While the Weisman Museum's art collection is disappointingly small in size - with a few gems by Lichenstein and Warhol sharing the same space as less well-known 20th-century artists - the building in which it is housed is the real attraction. Designed by Frank Gehry and considered a Minneapolis monument, this gleaming metal-and-brick structure overlooks the Mississippi River, catching reflections of light and water and affording stunning views of the city.

Located in the city's newly-rejuvenated Harrison neighborhood, the gallery's fresh and funky approach is perfectly in line with the area's continuing metamorphosis.

The Minneapolis Institute of Arts is another of the city's world-class art museums containing a magnificent permanent exhibition of over 100,000 national works from both modern and historical genres including selected Asian, African and European arts and crafts, a classical antiquity display, a photography exhibit, archaeological artifacts and a collection of quilts. Established in 1883, the institute is currently housed in a spectacular marble building designed and constructed by Beaux-Arts architects McKim, Mead and White in 1915.

The Rogue Buddha Gallery has been open since January 2000, when Nicholas Harper, himself an artist, facilitated its opening. RGB is a kaleidoscopic mix of exhibitions and events, with a primary focus on visual arts and a peripheral interest in dance, film and music. Most featured artists are painters, but sculptures, potters and photographers are regularly thrown into RGB's vibrant contemporary mix of creative exhibitors.

The Beard Galleries were founded in 1886 and were joined by former master framer Vern Carver in 1961 to become one of the most respected and well-established art galleries in Minneapolis. The Vern Carver and Beard Galleries are more traditional than many of the city's other galleries, featuring mainly realist and impressionist artworks by contemporary and local artists. The galleries also offer framing, restoration, appraisal and consignment services.

Located next door to the Walker Art Center is America's biggest metropolitan sculpture park, home to a kaleidoscope of modern artworks including pieces by Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi, Frank Gehry and many more. The highlight of the garden is the massive 'Spoonbridge and Cherry' featuring a 52-foot spoon and 9-foot cherry by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje Van Bruggen. A vast pedestrian bridge embellished by sandblasted quotes from various artists and writers connects the Sculpture Garden to Loring Park on the opposite side of a multi-lane highway.
